Sony PlayStation promotes a self-titled video gaming console that combines high-definition entertainment with an array of action-packed games. An audience of both children and adults enjoy the many capabilities of this system.
The Project:
Flash-Animated Training Module, Custom Programming
The Story:
The marketers at Sony PlayStation needed means to promote the console not just to buyers, but to retailers as well. The employees of stores selling the PlayStation had to be informed of the console’s many bragging points in order to sell it properly. Unfortunately, current literature, which wasn’t easily accessible, existed as hard copy and was unappealing to read through.
The Solution:
PlayStation decided that an online, internal sales program would educate retailers about the gaming system. However, they needed someone to present the program in manner that was effective for a wide range of ages.
Primal Tribe teamed with PlayStation to create a flash-animated training module that provided an orientation, a quiz, and offered a chance to win the console. Employees would receive a card at their store that provided a web address and password, and directions to log in to the site to view the presentation.
Our team also included a module that asked users what they thought of the presentation – 95% of users responded that they liked it and would participate in something similar in the future. With Primal Tribe’s help, PlayStation was able to provide product information in a relevant format that appealed to their audience.
